This is the second CD with the great lied-heritage of Estonian composer Mart Saar (1882-1963), one of the very first professional composers in Estonia and and the most prolific estonian song composer until today.
The second album shows the author mostly from sunny-tempered and witty sides . There are many beautiful love-songs, admiration of nature's beauty, and some ironic folk songs about an unanswered love. Next to the well-known romantic songs like the mysterious 'He Came...' or dark-coloured 'Autumnal Contemplation' there are many forgotten but very beautiful songs like lively elegant 'In Spring', comical 'Suitor's Prise' or my personal favorite, wondrous picture of a hot summer day and sounding forests, 'Making Hay'.
